In this article we are going to see the step by step installation method of Solaris 10 on VMware Workstation. Prior to performing the installation we need to concentrate on prerequisites which is listed below. Once we have created the Virtual Machine we can continue the below steps. Lets we can start our installation process.

1. Latest VMware Workstation ( Download link)
2. Solaris 10 ISO image (Download link)
3. Resources requirements (Disk space, CPU, RAM, NIC, etc..,)
4. Host Name /IP Address
5. Root Passwd

Once "Powered ON" your Virtual Machine, It will boot from ISO image and will prompt to select the option as shown below and Selected Solaris

Select the default option "Solaris Interactive" by entering "1"

Select keyboard Layout as "US-English" and Click F2 and Select the Language as per your requirement. Below example Selected "English"

Continue the installation by click the F2 and Select Network Connectivity as "No" (Can be configured Later), If you have IP address details, then you can continue with those details By selecting "Yes".

Below Steps we are giving Our "Host Name" and Click F2 to continue
Keep Continue the installation by click the F2 key and Select Continents as "Asia" and country as "India" and Continue the Installation by click F2.

Confirm the Date and Time and click F2
Set you Root Passwd.
Select Enabling remote services  as "NO" and Select F2_Standard installation method and Select CD/DVD eject automatically and Select Reboot After Installation.
Select Geographic Regions as "English, India"

Additional Products Selected as "None" and Click F2 to Continue and Selected the File system as UFS. If you want to configure as ZFS, then Select as ZFS and F2 to continue.
Select Entire Distribution and F2 to Continue.
Select the Boot Disk which you want to install and F2 to continue
Select F2_Auto Layout and Select F4_Customize to customize your slices with required Sizes.

Now we have almost done the installation configurations and Select F2_begin Installations.

Once installation has completed, System will reboot automatically and come up with the below login prompt

Yes....You have successfully installed Solaris 10 on VMware workstation.
